shantae

Pirate Master's castle at the end was somewhat challenging, but that was like the only challenging part in the whole thing, wasn't it? Across the entire game, that was the only part that was really difficult in normal gameplay. The only other difficult part was Run Rotty Tops Run, but that was just a mini game.

It does ignore what happened. There's no touching upon Rotty Tops or anything about the Zombies at all. I mean, Abner and Poe have one interaction the entire game and that's the end of them. Rotty Tops gets two showings and then you never see her again. After the reveal of the last game, I think they deserved more.

Risky also just went through a huge experience of dealing with Dark Magic bringing back the Pirate Master... and not only is she wearing his skull again, but she tries to tinker with Dark Magic a second time? Why? There's almost no reason for her to try that and, honestly, I think her focusing on trying to get Shantae on her side would've been a better plot point. Making her actually evil to help her conquer the world, though with eventual betrayal, would have been a better plot point than her trying to completely flip the Genie world into dark magic.

I get what they were going for, but they should've at least waited a game for Risky to .... well, risk anything related to Dark Magic before making it the main plot focus. That or just make her not the main villain and instead toss that to Hypno Baron who has, in all honesty, been sitting on the back burner for quite awhile now. Hell, making it really about a bunch of Half-Genies, even though Shantae is supposed to be the only one, would've been better. One of them could've been evil.

All of Risky's moments and her general attitude in the game lean more towards the crazy side than anything logical. Same with Mimic, honestly. He really should have recognized they were tampered with, especially when it involved Dark Magic.

I agree that the plot writing wasn't really as witty as it usually is. Maybe the Risky storyline will fix that when it comes out, and give us some insight on what she was really trying to do... but I kind of doubt it. Either way, a lot of the usual witty jokes are kind of missing, especially with the villagers and side characters. That Wizard that gives you the Light Shard, for instance, is pretty 2D and his text doesn't even change if you do or don't go up to him with candy. He still says "You didn't have candy then, but now you do?" and it's like... This is the first time we've spoken. I've always had candy. It's awkward.

Like I said, though, the story pretends that Pirate's Curse didn't happen. The only allusion to it is Risky's weapons having almost the same effects from the Pirate's Curse versions, with the exception of her gun.

Don't get me wrong, though, I forgive them for it. I think they were focusing more on rehashing the gameplay and the look of the characters more than the writing this time. Next game will surely be better...

... Hopefully.

Pirate Grasp’s citadel on the finish was considerably difficult, however that was like the one difficult half in the entire thing, wasn’t it? Throughout the whole recreation, that was the one half that was actually tough in regular gameplay. The one different tough half was Run Rotty Tops Run, however that was only a mini recreation.

It does ignore what occurred. There isn’t any touching upon Rotty Tops or something concerning the Zombies in any respect. I imply, Abner and Poe have one interplay the whole recreation and that is the tip of them. Rotty Tops will get two showings and you then by no means see her once more. After the reveal of the final recreation, I believe they deserved extra.

Dangerous additionally simply went by means of an enormous expertise of coping with Darkish Magic bringing again the Pirate Grasp… and never solely is she sporting his cranium once more, however she tries to tinker with Darkish Magic a second time? Why? There’s nearly no purpose for her to attempt that and, actually, I believe her specializing in making an attempt to get Shantae on her facet would’ve been a greater plot level. Making her truly evil to assist her conquer the world, although with eventual betrayal, would have been a greater plot level than her making an attempt to fully flip the Genie world into darkish magic.

I get what they have been going for, however they need to’ve at the very least waited a recreation for Dangerous to …. effectively, danger something associated to Darkish Magic earlier than making it the primary plot focus. That or simply make her not the primary villain and as an alternative toss that to Hypno Baron who has, in all honesty, been sitting on the again burner for fairly awhile now. Hell, making it actually a couple of bunch of Half-Genies, though Shantae is meant to be the one one, would’ve been higher. Considered one of them might’ve been evil.

All of Dangerous’s moments and her basic perspective within the recreation lean extra in direction of the loopy facet than something logical. Similar with Mimic, actually. He actually ought to have acknowledged they have been tampered with, particularly when it concerned Darkish Magic.

I agree that the plot writing wasn’t actually as witty because it normally is. Possibly the Dangerous storyline will repair that when it comes out, and provides us some perception on what she was actually making an attempt to do… however I form of doubt it. Both manner, a whole lot of the same old witty jokes are form of lacking, particularly with the villagers and facet characters. That Wizard that offers you the Mild Shard, as an example, is fairly 2D and his textual content would not even change for those who do or do not go as much as him with sweet. He nonetheless says “You did not have sweet then, however now you do?” and it is like… That is the primary time we have spoken. I’ve all the time had sweet. It is awkward.

Like I stated, although, the story pretends that Pirate’s Curse did not occur. The one allusion to it’s Dangerous’s weapons having nearly the identical results from the Pirate’s Curse variations, except her gun.

Do not get me improper, although, I forgive them for it. I believe they have been focusing extra on rehashing the gameplay and the look of the characters greater than the scripting this time. Subsequent recreation will certainly be higher…

… Hopefully.
